The Day is Done is our love letter to the lugged racing frame. We build it from custom Pegoretti steel tubing and stainless steel lugs, brazed by hand. It looks like it could have come out of an Italian workshop forty years ago. It rides like it was built this morning.
Don't let the lugs fool you. This is an oversized frame with serious stays — the same big-diameter approach we take on frames such as the Marcelo and the Responsorium. The dropout is unique to this bike: a slim, clean design we developed specifically for the Day is Done, where the stays meet perpendicular tube segments rather than the hooded dropouts we use elsewhere. The result is a frame that looks elegant and refined but loses nothing in stiffness.

A 1-1/8" headset, oversized tubing, non-tapering stays. Everything about it says race bike — except the name, which comes from a Nick Drake song, later covered by the jazz pianist Brad Mehldau.
Every frame handmade in Verona. We’ll guide you through every choice.
