First launched in 2006, Love #3 became an instant classic, with riders falling for its fast, fun and predictable handling. It was an aluminium frame unlike any other: aggressive and smooth. A punk rocker with good manners.
Riders who own a Love #3 talk about it differently to our steel bikes. They're a little bit crazy about it, and for years they've asked us to bring it back. So here it is: our Love #3, in disc and with internal routing, the way our friends want to ride it today. The name is unchanged because the bike, at heart, is unchanged.
Ask Pietro for one word about Elio and he says elegant. Ask him about Love #3 and he says witty. Then light. Then fast. If Elio is the stainless steel bike you buy once for a lifetime of long rides, Love #3 is the AC Cobra: the most fun to ride in our range if you're into red lines, and talkative with it.
Riders who have the Love #3 think about it in a different way to our steel models; they go out, go wild and come back in a blast. A fun ride for free spirits.
New Love #3 respects the original’s to-the-floor feel and brings everything around it up to date. Disc brakes, flat-mount. Electronic groupsets only, with fully internal cable routing through the same head tube as Elio, Orlando and Marcelo Interno, so it takes the same integrated cockpits. A BSA bottom bracket, a 31.6mm seat post, and a new Pegoretti carbon fork, the P32, with clearance for 32mm tyres.
The tubing is still our custom, oversized aluminium, welded here in Verona. The result is around 25% lighter than our disc stainless steel models, and it rides the way aluminium should: direct, eager, and quick to accelerate, without the harshness. A road racing frame with a penchant for crits, plain and simple.
It is at its best on short, fast rides, the ones where you go out to go beyond your best and come home grinning. For long days in the saddle, most riders will be happier on Elio. For sprinting out of a no-brake back left to a flag-waving home stretch, Love will leave it on the road.
