Marla’s Magura Duende CX

As all fathers know, once children come along, there’s not as much time for the simple pleasures in life, such as cycling – at least in the early years. So when our special client Manfred from Germany inquired about a Pegoretti for his daughter, Marla, we were only too happy to help father and daughter get out on the road together, albeit eighteen years later.

Marla lives and studies in Bolzano, in northern Italy, and wanted a Pegoretti that would enable her to combine her two passions of mountain climbing and bike riding in the Italian Dolomites. We recommended a Pegoretti-Duende CX, a frame that could easily carry her over both road and light trails en route to the best climbing spots.

The bike features a steel Pegoretti fork for added reassurance on rough ground, bespoke, unbranded wheels, the proven SRAM Force Etap system and, unusually, hydraulic Magura rim brakes.

Although Marla and her father now enjoy cycling together in and around Bolzano, Manfred is, we are told, not allowed to borrow his daughter’s bike. Ever.
